Carl, Glen and Anton are looking for some top performances against both strong local and international triathletes. "This is a huge race for us and one that gets our sponsors International Coverage. With K-Swiss being an international brand, we have no doubts that they will be featured on the tv screens when this race is broadcast to the rest of the world" "December has been a tough month for us with huge mileage and consistent training the order of the day. I have confidence in the boys to deliver when it counts most". The team will tackle a 1.9km swim, followed by a tought 90km bike leg and then finally, a 21km run. They are wanting to start the year off with a bang, so watch out for the team as they go head-to head against the very best athletes next weekend

Team K-Swiss finishes 2009 in style
TEAM K-Swiss brought the 2009 season to an end this past weekend at the final of the National Tri-Series.
Team captain Glen Gore, managed to secure the vets title with five out of six wins, to totally dominate the section.
Henri Schoeman, making his debut as a full-time triathlete this season, managed fourth overall in the junior series.
Overall, the team has certainly played a major part in this year's series.
Gore said, "With only four team members, we managed to dominate race proceedings at each and every event, with Henri laying into the swim and leading onto the bike. This exposure was invaluable and all team sponsors have certainly benefitted from it."
Gore also said the team's primary focus was on the longer events, with Ironman 70.3 scheduled for 17 January being it's primary objective.
"Our team is the only team that can compete across all sections, from sprint to Ironman distance. Our season really starts in January and that is where the big international exposure comes into play."
The team also competes in a number of other events as it prepares for the Ironman, including the SA Half Ironman Champs in February in the Vaal, the Midlands Ultra in March and finally the Ironman in PE.
"We'll throw in the KZN Champs and a couple of other filler events. We have a busy start to the new year," added Gore.

Team K-Swiss brought the 2009 season to a finish this past weekend at the final of the National Tri Series........Team Captain Glen Gore managed to secure the Vets Title with 5 out of 6 wins to totally dominate that section. Henri Schoeman making his debut as a full-time triathlete this season managed a 4th place overall in the Jnr Series. Carl and Anton Storm played the part of looking after their team captain during the final to ensure that he was victorious on the day........
Overall the team have certainly played a major part during this years series. With only 4 team members at present, we managed to dominate race precedings at each and every event with Henri laying into the swim and leading onto the bike. This exposure was invaluable and all team sponsors have certainly benefited from it........The team are primarily focused on the longer events with ironman 70.3 scheduled for JAN 17th 2010 a primary objective of ours. "Our team is the only team that can compete across all sections, from sprint distance right up to ironman distance. Our season only really starts in January and that is where the big international exposure comes into play. The team will also compete in a number of other events as they prepare for ironman in April next year. We will contest the SA Half ironman champs in FEB up in the Vaal, The Midlands ultra in March and then finally the IMSA event down in PE. Throw in KZN champs and a couple of other filler-in events and we have a really busy start to the new year. The team are in full training mode at the moment and wish to thank their loyal sponsors who make all this possible through the sponsorship of TEAM K-SWISS.
Thanks to the sponsors once again, we look forward to representing all of you come 2010.

Team K-Swiss members put up a really good showing down in PE yesterday at Round no 6 of the National Tri Series. Henri "ace" swimmer Schoeman klapped the boys stukkend in the swim again and easily lead from the front. He is seriously looking for some competition to help him along on the lonely 600m stretch of water. Olympic swim sensation, Riaan Schoeman will join him this coming weekend for the final of the series down in the Vaal. He has joined Team K-Swiss as one of our "lead out men"..........The team will certainly mix things up in the water and the pace will be hot...............
Glen Gore managed to win the Vets title quite convincingly down in PE hooking the main leading bunch with 6km to go on the bike. He along with Carl Storm rode up to the leaders after they were caught napping in the swim to bike transition change...............Not too worry, Team K-Swiss had all 3 of their members in the front bunch with plenty of tv time once again. Not bad for a team that is outnumbered 3 to 1 by the other squads...............The ace up our sleeves is the fact that Team K-Swiss can compete over any distance from short distance right up to long distance (ironman) which is our speciality.........all the other teams do not have this depth and they only focus on sub 2hr racing events and less.......
"Its been great to compete against the spring chickens in their own backyard.............Our speed has certainly been worked on and this can only bode well for the longer stuff we start getting into come JAN 2010. I have laid down the challenge to the other teams to come and try race us in our backyards, no takers as yet but they are still young, so lets give them a few years and then see where they end up. Otherwise we will be at full strength this coming Sunday down in the Vaal for the final of the series. All 5 team members will race"
Look out for team k-swiss! Here we come. Thanks to our sponsors once again who have supported us so fantastically

Team K-Swiss were at it again yesterday at Round 4 of the National Tri Series down at GERMISTON Lake. As per usual, a massive entry list (the biggest triathlon event in SA) with over 2000 competitors..........Hot and windy! Ideal Race conditions.
The team was pumped and we have some plans to mix it up a little more than usual. We debuted our latest new "guest" team member in Riaan Schoeman (Olympic Swimmer) and brother to Henri. He is a king in the water and no slouch when it comes to biking either. The plan was for him to help his younger brother out in the swim and then go hammer and tong on the bike and see where it took him. Unfortunately a bad case of Jippo Guts earlier in the week left him weak and un-prepared properly for a 100% effort he would have wanted to give.
The start of the swim was hectic. A couple of hundred men all fighting for a few meters of water space. If you don't know your story and are not fast enough to get out into the open water quick enough, your in for a very bad swim. Henri and Riaan aced the swim and came out 1/2 as was expected from the best swimmers in the country - no question. The blue seventy wetsuits are certainly doing their job. The other teams are looking a tad slow wearing the other brands at the moment.......Glen, Carl and Anton were tucked in nicely amongst the front bunch of about 12 following swimmers. This elite group form the bulk of the spearhead each and every race, GERMISTON was no different. Henri took off onto the bike first with Riaan still finding his feet with this new sport, called Triathlon. Glen was determined not to get dropped again in the swim-to-bike transition and was out like lightning on his super fast FELT AR2 race machine..............Anton unfortunately had his seat pillar bolt snap on him as he jumped onto the bike, so his race was over before it even got started..............Carl was close by but a wrong turn on the 1st few km's of the bike leg saw him drop out of contention from the lead pack on the bike..........
Henri went out front for the TV coverage on the bike whilst Glen sat safely in the pack with all the big guns and series points leaders. No sweat for a 40yr old up against youngsters he could easily have "fathered" in another lifetime.........Henri was eventually caught on the bike but he still had an ace up his sleeve by attacking with 3km's to go and coming off the bike as the sole leader of the race. His FELT DA was working like a charm. Fortunately for us, the team was well fueled in terms of nutrition (LIFEGAIN/ENDURO FUEL AND ENDURO GEL) so the heat and physical aspect of the race were par for the course.......
Henri took off on the run in the lead and eventually finished up as 2nd JNR on the day. Glen had a modest run but was still able to clinch the VETS race title quite comfortably. The K-SWISS running shoes are starting to show their true benefits as Henri gets faster and faster each race. Carl was able to finish up in the mix after his wrong turn on the bike whilst Anton did the team "cheerleader" thing from the side..................
Next race:
TRi Series no 5 down in CT...............Watch this site for more details......
Team K-Swiss will head up to Germiston this coming weekend to race at Round no 4 of the National Tri Series
We have some exciting plans as usual and if they come off, we are going to create some waves!! As mentioned, 75% of our team are long distance triathletes specializing in half and full ironman, so this is a little "short" for us. Non the less, the competitive fires burn and we are always keen for a bashing even over 600m swim, 20km cycle and 5km run............We have Team leader, Glen Gore leading the Vets Cat. "This is new territory for me. Having won the elite title outright twice, placed 2nd twice and 3rd twice as well, its quite strange to race in the "old mans" category this year. Oh well I guess we all get older so best I go out in style..................I race hard though and the aim is to beat the youngsters" Henri Schoeman is placed 3rd in the JNR category and looks to be getting faster and stronger as the series progresses. Carl and Anton Storm are our war horses protecting the team during the cycle......
Expect some exciting racing come this weekend. We won't go down without a fight and the aim is always to be noticed. The sponsors deserve that much!!

Team K-Swiss had a much better performance at yesterday Race no 3 of the National Tri Series
The race was held up in PTA, scorching sun and plenty of weed on the dam (not the stuff you smoke)................by this I mean we had to wade through thick "lily" type bush just to get into the water. Not the best for our prep plus the fact that it was a non wetsuit swim put us a little off track in terms of our normal race tactics. Non the less, being PRO means you deal with all situations. Henri "ace" Schoeman once again got us some fantastic coverage by leading out the swim. Anton and Glen somewhere in the lead pack as well. Its a washing machine and bun fight all at the same time during that 600m swim. Henri was out on his bike 1st with the rest of the triathletes chasing hard!!! Glen missed the front pack of bikers with a slow run from the water to the bikes (the team captain is going to have to put in some hard graft in the next 2 weeks to limit his damage, in this type of racing, a quick swim plus slow transition means bad race unfortunately. Not too worry, he fell into the 2nd chase group a minute back on the bike, which chased hard throughout the 20km cycle. Anton and Henri made Numerous "TV exposure timed" attacks on the bike but the other guys were not playing ball............
Once onto the run, Henri raced really well to clinch a 3rd spot on the Jnr podium, only 2:30 back of the winner (not bad for an 18yr old just finding his tri-feet) Glen finished solidly to clinch the VETS title easily and lead the overll VET serie prize standings and Anton had his usual "I am getting faster by the race " run with a solid top 20 finish. Carl did not make the trip up due to illness but he is chomping at the bit to get back into action.
The team will next race at Race no 4 which takes place in 2 weeks time up in Jozi!!! and boy oh boy, have we got some plans!! wait for it!!

Team K-Swiss head up to PTA this weekend for Round 3 of the BSG TRi Series. As far as luck and a bad run are concerned, we are looking good to go for this race. If you look at what happened to us last weekend, any result can only be better. The team is pumped and amped to go and do a good job.......Its a busy race PTA but we are looking to amend for our costly mistakes of last weekend and deliver in terms of results. Team K-Swiss are on the map and we are there, now its time to deliver a little more than just talk. Its quite hard to compete at the sprint distance level when our true focus is on the longer stuff, but the team have the swim and the bike capablities to compete with anybody. Now we need to hone our run skills and use our k-swiss shoes and run faster, that simple. Fingers crossed people, We will let you know what happens comes Mondays race report. Till then............................

Team K-Swiss literally crashed themselves out of Round 2 of the BSG Tri Series yesterday out at Potch Dam. Hang on!!!! Their team captain did?
Picture this! 6:30am in the morning, Glen and Henri approach the guesthouse where Carl and Anton are staying. Glen, like an idiot forgets he has 2 x R60 000 bicycles on his roof attached to the super strong Thule Roof Racks. He hits the overhead going into the Guest House and pulls their entire wall down (see pic under gallery - that's the pillar lying on the grass).
Bricks, Wood, Bikes and all come crashing down around them. We get out and assess the damage done:
1) Guest House entrance: Totally Destroyed
2) Henri's FELT DA - broken handlebar snapped in half
3) Glen's Team Vehicle - Eish!! I don't even wanna know what that's gonna cost!
4) Thule Roof Racks - hardly a scratch
What do we do now? 2hrs till race time and we are 100km from the venue and minus a bike for Henri. We shoot to my buddies house and load his old skadonk of a Raleigh (10 sizes too big for Henri but ride able). The team are juiced with adrenalin. We arrive at the race venue. Glen runs off to register all. Anton "super mechanic" Storm chops and changes bikes around so Henri has a steed to ride..Carl is pretty "cool" about all at the moment. Must be the de-stress of not having to look after his new baby daughter!!. Glen is almost crying and trying to understand how he could be so stupid.............Anyway, we get into transition and get ready to race.........NO PRESSURE, yeah right!!
Henri bolts and wins the swim easily, making the other guys look a little stupid and slow. Anton, Glen and Carl are in the mix during the 600m swim with all the leaders. Panic in transition and Carl and Glen loose out on the front pack and end up chasing for the rest of the ride. Anton is safely in the pack and they eventually catch Henri..............Glen's race is history, besides his mental issues from the "freak" accident, his bike wheels jams up with 3km to go and race over, he limps in 3rd Vet I think and a total disaster of a day. Carl tries to help him but his efforts are in vain............Henri is smoking the race (leading JNR and front pack on the bike) and he blows his back tire with 4km to go. That's him out of the race. Anton is our only rep up front after this, he tries some mini break aways from the pack but they are no letting him get anywhere.
So results wise at Round 2 of the Tri Series, K-SWISS = 0, other teams = far in front of us!!
We still got coverage and Henri is our main man at the moment! Looking at it this way, how much worse could it get? We have had our bad luck for the rest of the year, only one way now and that is up!!
Keep you guys posted

Team K-Swiss will be heading to the tiny "dorpie" of Potchestroom this coming weekend for Round 2 of the BSG Tri Series. The Team is eager to follow up on their debut last weekend at Midmar Dam. "The swim and the bike legs were excellent but we did lag a little in the run section. This will we will fix and our plan is to adopt a second set of race tactics............." This series is not our focus as most of us specialise in the longer stuff but we are still extremely competitive and none of us like to be beaten.............So expect big things from us! We will keep you posted

12/09/2009
Team K-Swiss kicked off the season with a bang, announcing their arrival on the local SA tri scene at Midmar Dam on the 11th OCT...............Firstly, we got some major interview coverage on Supersport to explain how we came to be and what we have planned looking ahead (see the tellie this coming SAT - Supersport 2 for the scoop)
Henri Schoeman took out the swim and left the rest of the field trailing in his wake. First onto the bike (major exposure for our sponsors) and leader until 8km into the bike leg. Carl and Anton Storm plus Team Captain Glen Gore formed part of the leading pack of swimmers and made the jump into the top bunch of the day. Team K-Swiss had 4 members in the leading group. Once again, we were making our presence felt in no uncertain terms...........
Off the bike and the wheels came off. First race and some serious run speed lacking.........Carl finished in 11th spot..............Glen in 14th (1st VET) , Henri in 15th spot (4th JNR) and Anton a few positions behind that..................
The teams major focus is on the long stuff (half ironman and longer) so the speedsters got away from us this time..............we will train harder though.
At least they now know who TEAM K-SWISS are................................We got on TV and that was the main aim of RACE NO 1.
Next race, this coming weekend.........look out... The TEAM K-SWISS train is on the run.

Vitaminwater Media Release
US “nutrient-packed” Vitaminwater makes a splash in Durban
Coca-cola’s $4.1 billion brand, glacéau vitaminwater has officially launched in Durban.
The active lifestyle brand, which was launched in Johannesburg and Cape Town during march, is rolling out worldwide, and has been well received by local markets.
The strategic decision by Coke to purchase non –carbonated drinks has definitely paid off. in South Africa alone, the brand has seen double-digit month-on-month growth since the march launch. retailers have seen a marked increase in sales; and with the advent of summer approaching the projected forecast is looking good.
About the brand
Glacéau Vitaminwater started way back in 1996. You remember 1996, right? eish man, who doesn’t? That was the year penny heyns brought back two glinting gold olympic medals; the year archbishop Tutu sat down to chair the truth and reconciliation commission; and also the year South Africans danced like crazy when our team held up the victory trophy at the african cup of nations.
It was also during this time, in New York city, that an adventurer, gadabout, and humble genius named J. Darius Bikoff was feeling the double blow of raging thirst and low energy. en route to a yoga class, Bikoff gobbled a vitamin c wafer and chased it with a swig of water. the combination of flavour and nourishment inspired Bikoff to develop Glacéau Vitaminwater, a great tasting active lifestyle beverage that’s packed with nutrients, and has no artificial flavours or colours.
Bikoff’s unique vision transformed the beverage industry, as he first created the enhanced water category and then went on to build glacéau vitaminwater into the leader of the active lifestyle category in the u.s. to cut a long story short, while most beverages are just about flavour and refreshment, Glacéau Vitaminwater is about so much more…simply put, it’s a great complement to our often less than perfect diet.
each variant has a unique combination of nutrients that offer specific benefits to help you through those “what have i done to deserve this” moments; those mind numbingly boring conference calls; a bad case of monday morningitus; a gut-busting gym workout; or one of those “i’m never drinking again” morning afters. these six varieties are: glacéau vitaminwater power-c (dragonfruit), glacéau vitaminwater essential (orange-orange), glacéau vitaminwater energy (tropical) glacéau vitaminwater super-v (lemon), glacéau vitaminwater xxx (acai-blueberry-pomegranate) and Glacéau Vitaminwater revive (fruit punch).
In march 2009, South Africa joined Australia, Mexico, Canada, New Zealand and Great Britain in being one of the first countries outside of the USA to drink New York’s drink of choice – Glacéau Vitaminwater, and everyone is loving it.
Available in a 500ml single serve pet bottle, from September Glacéau Vitaminwater can be found at select retail outlets in Durbs.
ends.

The who’s who in the sporting industry applauded the launch of the squad to watch in the months ahead. Carl Storm, Anton Storm, Henri Schoeman and team manager and founding member, Glen Gore were introduced to the enthralled crowd at Origin, Durban’s newest hotspot in Clark Road, on Thursday, 8 October 2009.
The depth of talent in this multisport team leaves many in awe, with all having much to offer across the various multisport disciplines:

Anton Storm: World class swim triathlete, IMSA swim record holder and multiple SA Champion.
Carl Storm: Top 5 International Ironman Finisher, South Africa Tri Champion and Compendium Winter Tri Series Champion 2009.
Henri Schoeman: South African u19 Triathlon Champion, one of the fastest triathlon swimmers in the World European Cup, as a top 3 finisher.

Starting in SA, with the K-Swiss Team, the brand is launching into the multisport market. K-Swiss representative, Jeremy Nel, says he is proud to play a part in the growth of the team, and is looking forward to sharing in their successes. All the team sponsors are excited about supporting such a dynamic and talented team of athletes, who will proudly wear their brands.
The K-Swiss Team would like to thank sponsors K-Swiss, Lec Group, Lifegain, Compendium, Finis, Ricoh, Enduro Fuel, Thule, Blue Seventy and the Wellness Clinic for their overwhelming support of the team. WHAT GIVES?
After a “hot and humid” 18 month stay in NZ, I along with my family, decided to return to the “cooler” climes of Durban KZN. We missed SA and particularly Durban too much and were determined to find out way back.
This is when the opportunity to join up at SportsGuide came about. My good friend and fellow athlete, Arthur Lello presented me with a position (to good to pass up) to work on the advertising and some editorial content for the publication.
I have some extensive experience in the sports magazine field and what with, multi-sport and triathlon being my passion, this was/is a fantastic opportunity to move away gradually from a professional competitive career into a more docile but still vibrant long term career prospect.
How do SportsGuide and Team K-Swiss tie-up?
SportsGuide is South Africa’s one and only Event specific publication that is totally free to our readers. We have over 72 000 sports mad fanatics reading our publication each issue, getting insight into SA’s most comprehensive race calendar, news, views and more. It’s a multi sports culture we cater to and that is what the publication is all about.
Our short term goal for the magazine is to grow the reach and extend the brand name across the country. That is where the idea was born to form a multi sport team with the backing of SportsGuide.
A team that can do all forms of multi sport from Triathlon through to swimming, biking, running and more, creates massive exposure opportunities and SG saw it as a unique way in which to broaden our readership.
The concept was born, now to find the financial backers to bankroll this team and get it out on the roads as soon as possible.
K-Swiss, a brand more synonymous with Tennis and Street culture have embarked on a massive drive world-wide to promote their new brand of running shoes.
This presented SportsGuide with the lure we were looking for. K-Swiss signed on the dotted line as main title sponsor, immediately recognising the benefits to be had, associating themselves with the team and the SG media powerhouse.
Once the main sponsor was secured, we netted a whole host of co-sponsors who were willing to join the party and come on-board. This is essentially a KZN based team, backed by a national publication, bank-rolled by KZN business. Time to put Durban and the Zulu kingdom on the sports map! TEAM K-SWISS is born.
The team has 4 current members, all unique and talented in their own special way…
- Team Founder Glen Gore
- Carl Storm
- Anton Storm
- Henri Schoeman
The team will race country-wide from short events (BSG Energade Tri series) right through to the grand daddy of them all, the Ironman. Our short term goal is exposure for the sponsors and of course, SportsGuide magazine. The long term vision is to develop this team, expand the number of team members and create a history that will not be forgotten amongst SA’s (and SportsGuides) multi sport enthusiasts..
Look out for us, here we come………
