-Swiss announces partnership with World Endurance South Africa - 

World Endurance South Africa and K-Swiss South Africa are delighted to announce a partnership bringing together two of the world’s most prominent sporting brands.

K-Swiss South Africa has signed a deal with World Endurance South Africa that includes both the Spec-Savers Ironman 70.3 South Africa in January and the Spec-Savers Ironman South Africa in April 2012. 

K-Swiss will be the official footwear and clothing partner for both events in South Africa providing world class clothing and footwear for race officials, volunteers and athletes.

This is in line with the brand’s global strategy of taking ownership of the global triathlon market, creating a platform from where the brand can communicate to the consumer through great products and performance clothing.

K-Swiss is excited at the prospect of working with World Endurance South Africa and look forward to a prosperous and long lasting relationship.

Exciting prospect

World Endurance South Africa has carved a niche in the South African triathlon market by successfully staging the world class events, the Spec-Savers Ironman South Africa in Port Elizabeth and the Spec-Savers Ironman 70.3 South Africa in East London. These events are today prominent fixtures in each respective global series and the company is therefore excited at the prospect of a dynamic partnership with one of the world’s most pre-eminent triathlon clothing brands.

The partnership will go a long way to ensuring that the quality of the events are matched by the quality of the products available to athletes and the standard set by the race officials sporting the K-Swiss brand.

K-Swiss Triathletes were in action this past weekend at Race no 2 of the BSG Tri Series. Racing in the K-Ruuz (Africa’s fastest racing shoe) Rosalyn laurens blazed to a 2^nd place in the Elite Ladies Section whilst Rudolf Naude and Henri Schoeman placed 3^rd and 4^th respectively in the Men’s Elite Section. K-Swiss are very much at the forefront of sponsorship in Triathlon in SA. Athletes are recongnising the brand as a major force in running footwear in this country… The K-Swiss Team will be racing this coming weekend in Potchefstroom at round no 3 of the national TRI SERIES.

The team is looking to build on this start with many more races to come over all distance in the next few weeks and months. K-Swiss had its 1^st win last weekend with Glen Gore taking the D-Day International Half Ironman Event held in Maurtius last Saturday

K-Swiss Athlete, Andreas Raelert broke the World Ironman Record just seven days after fellow K-Swiss Athlete Marino Vanhoenacker broke the previous world mark. Raelert stormed to victory in his K-Ruuz over in Roth stopping the clocks at an amazing 7:41:33. He ran an incredible 2:40 marathon in his k-ruuz racing shoes after the 3.8km swim and 180km bike. That is an average of 3:45 per km.The Raelert brothers will be heading for KONA in October armed with their K-RUUZ and the $1 Million Dollar Bonus K-Swiss have put up if either of them win the World Crown

K-Swiss sponsored athlete Abrahm Louw won the u23 African Triathlon Championship title on the weekend held in Maputo Mozambique. This is good news for K-Swiss as their athletes secured victories in both the U23 and Junior Male categories. Another Team K-Swiss athlete, Rudolf Naude placed 3^{rd in the same U23} section wrapping up a very successful event for Team K-SwissThe K-Ruuz are burning up the race events both locally and internationally. 

Team K-Swiss are looking forward to the start of the summer season in a few weeks time

K-Swiss sponsored athlete, Wiaan Sullwald convincingly won the African Junior Triathlon title on Sunday held in Maputo Mozambique. Sullwald who represented the SA Junior Team lead from start to finish to claim the title well over 3 minutes ahead of his nearest rival. He will now head off to Europe to compete in some of the events over there before returning to SA for the start of our summer season in October. Wiaan ran to victory in the K-Ruuz Racing shoe. Aidan Nugent, also part of Team K-Swiss showed some major promise for this coming season with a 5^th placing overall

The K-Swiss Kwickie Blade Light  made a remarkable entry into the local South African Road Running Scene on Sunday when Team Toyota’s Brian Zondi grabbed a gold medal at Comrades 2011 by finishing in 9^th place overall. K-SWISS came on-board as the footwear sponsor to the professional TOYOTA Team by supplying the Team with the very latest in footwear technology, the KWICKIE BLADE LIGHT. Not only did K-Swiss and Brian grab a gold medal but the TOYOTA TEAM managed to scoop 1^st place overall in the Men’s Team Prize Award.

Locally based K-Swiss running shoe brand have put their weight behind the Toyota Professional Running Team at this year’s Comrades Marathon. Based in Pinetown, the runners at this year’s BIG C will literally run past the front door of the K-Swiss head office as they start the climb of Fields Hill, some 20km into the 2011 race. 

K-Swiss, one of the world’s best shoe brands have already established themselves in South Africa as the premier shoe of choice amongst triathletes and Ironman competitors alike. They are now investing heavily in the road running segment and are putting their hopes on one of South Africa’s top running clubs, TOYOTA AC. 

Toyota AC are a major force to be reckoned with and have brought down a strong team of 16 runners all intent on making their mark at this year’s up run. Top female runner, Mamorallo Tjoka placed 3^rd  at the recent TWO OCEANS MARATHON behind the Russian Nurgalieva Twins. She is most probably Africa’s best hope of scooping the title away from the Russian duo. Hailing from Lesotho, Tjoka is ready to lay claim to that elusive African Win in the Female Division.

The Toyota men’s team have some heavy fire power to match with three top 10 placing’s at OCEANS 2011. Tsotang Maine placed 3^rd only 49 seconds behind the eventual winner with Lebohang Mahloane (6^th) and Peter Muthubi (9^th) backing up the team’s performance. Toyota have a few aces up their sleeves with some dark horses set to “mix it up” a bit. 

K-Swiss have imported a special shoe just for the runners to ensure that they run in the very best and certainly one of the most scientific shoes ever.
